Eden & Jeff Tie the Knot!

Eden and Jeff are a super cool couple who definitely make my job feel like anything but work. Their wedding day was relaxed, fun, and completely them.

You can also re-live the E-session antics here.

Wedding tip: If formality isn’t for you, don’t force it. Greeting your groomsmen with a high five during the ceremony may be more your style.

I know I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again….I love this look on a groom’s face.

Michelle & Sven

Michelle & Sven were married July 17th in Langley. Instead of getting ready at home, the girls spent the morning at the salon where Michelle used to work. The salon girls insisted she get her dress on there as well, so they could see the whole look before she left. It was so fun to see the faces of her old friends when she walked out of the back room all dolled up.

Back at home and waiting for the limo, we calmed the nerves with some simple portraits in the yard.

Ceremony time, in a little shade under the big tree.

These two are a couple of few words, but sometimes a look says it all.

Michelle is very close with her aunt, and was worried she may not be able to make it to the wedding. There is clearly a very strong bond between these two that was an honour to capture.

My favourite series of brother/sister formals yet! Some things never change.

The fabulous bridal party was ready for fun. Caught them practicing some group poses.

Spontaneity wins over posed any day.

Speaking of which I believe the groomspeople were looking for me to shoot their boy band style album cover here.

Then for some bride & groom alone time.

When I saw Michelle’s new tattoo I was floored. Some girls get tattoos covered up for their wedding, this girl went out and got one. Awesome!

I love chartreuse green, and I love jewelry. Put these things together and I could shoot all day!

Michelle’s dad gave this ring to her mom during their wedding ceremony…clearly a bit of a prankster. It’s now a very special heirloom for Michelle, that she was able to wear during her own wedding ceremony.

Couples are always looking for an alternative to the glass clinking these days. At this wedding, you’d have to hula-hoop to get the couple to kiss, and the kiss would last as long as the hoop stayed up. However, I think they underestimated how good their friends and family would be at this activity.

Katrina & Tom tie the knot!

I have to admit I’ve done a great job of losing track of time over the last couple of months. Since getting whisked away to Vegas in November with family & friends for my big 3-0, then getting totally absorbed in the slow pace of the holidays…all of a sudden I can’t believe it’s January.

I refuse to call it a resolution, but I will now begin the great blog catch-up with Katrina & Tom’s lovely wedding. Katrina, being the resourceful and organized bride she was, not only got herself all glammed up first thing in the morning, but took care of mom’s beautifying as well.

You may remember the adorable Mac from Katrina & Tom’s engagement session earlier this year.
He’s clearly keeping a close eye on the situation.

Coffee…check. Champagne…check. Protein bars…check. Ready to get married!

The ceremony took place at the United Church in White Rock.

I remember being a child in wedding parties. I didn’t get it either.

Yay!

We stopped for some family time before rushing the wedding party off to Sendall Gardens. Katrina and her fantastic grandmother couldn’t stop giggling together.

Then the wedding party heads off to mingle at the reception, while the bride & groom get some quiet time.

Katrina & Tom were both so sweet and fun that the photo opportunities were endless and the coaching was minimal. Tom was reluctant at first (like many grooms) to have his photo taken, but loosened up during the engagement session, so on the wedding day they could just concentrate on each other.

It was a pleasure to spend the time with such a great couple. Congratulations, guys!

Katrina & Tom Engagement Session

It’s not often as a photographer that I meet a couple who say, “Would it be possible to include our plane in the photo session”?

Katrina & Tom’s wedding is coming up at the end of the month, but we managed to squeeze in a fun little trip to the Langley Airport before the big day.

Then we took a quick trip over to Sendall Gardens to for the rest of the shoot, so we could include their adorable dog Mac.

Mac clearly didn’t want to be left out of the kisses:

Thanks for supplying the great “props”, you two! See you in 2 weeks!

Brittany & Stephan - Barkley Brook Wedding

I recently had the pleasure of photographing Brittany & Stephan’s wedding…another trip out to Barkley Brook in Langley. What’s great about this venue is the ability to have the cermony, reception, and unlimited photo spots all in one location.

Brittany & Stephan were both so great to work with, and it makes my job so much easier when the couple is excited not only about posing for photos, but about spending that time together.

I love the time spent as a fly on the wall while the girls get ready:

Brittany is overwhelmed as she sees herself in the mirror for the first time:

The girls sneak a peek of the guests arriving for the ceremony:

The ceremony ends with a hollywood kiss:

Stephan’s awesome idea for their thank you cards. The guests on the other side of the pond had no idea what they were up to:

Stephan & his guys:

Brittany & her ladies:

The couple grabs a few quiet moments alone:

Thanks, you two! It was a pleasure!
