Hi there! I’m Jana.
Choosing a photographer is one of the most important decisions when planning your wedding. You want to make sure you’re choosing a photographer whose work you connect with, but just as importantly, whose personality you connect with. I know it’s not easy to get a good feel for who somebody is through a website, but hopefully through reading about my experiences and my stories, you can get a peek into my life. I hope that with this blog I can give brides & grooms, their friends and family, and everyone out there a better idea of who I am and what I love to do.
Wedding photography is my passion. It’s my dream job, and I love what I do. I do, after all, get to spend most of my weekends celebrating with gorgeous, glowing people on one of the biggest days of their lives. I like to think that that passion shows through my work, and in the relationships we form. I believe in creating fun, fresh and honest images filled with emotion that tell the true story of your wedding day. 2 years ago today we brought a new little person into the world, and in a way I became a new person myself. Quinn has changed my life in more incredible ways than I ever could have imagined, and I just love her more and more every day. She’s such a little adult already that I often wonder if she’s teaching us more than we’re teaching her.
Each of these photos is taken in the same spot almost exactly 1 year apart. Amazing how the time has flown by.

I love fall.
It’s the time of year when I carry my camera (not just my iphone) with me everywhere. So I’m even more excited when my clients want photo shoots in the fall, keeps me from just wandering aimlessly taking pictures of leaves.
Amy made one of these images her Facebook profile photo this week, mentioning that it had been exactly 1 year since we did this shoot….and I realized this blog post had slipped through the cracks! I photographed Amy & Tyler’s wedding almost 3 years ago, and we became instant friends. And I’m so excited to have our little ones born only 1 day apart, who can become great friends too.
Look at the sweet little hand pose. This kid knows he’s cute.

Looking forward to another family photo session in the future. This time including brand new little Annie! How time flies….
Rob & Anna (who you met in the previous post) are now the proud parents of baby Oro. We had this little visit when he was just 10 days old. Most babies sleep through these sessions, but not this little guy! Didn’t want to miss a thing.
Okay, he may have paused to rest his eyes just for a second. It’s a lot of work being 10 days old!

There’s something so exciting about having the opportunity to shoot the evolution of a family, from engagement to wedding to baby. And in this particular situation it’s even more special because it’s my sister’s family. I couldn’t possibly love my little nephew any more, and I know that being able to follow their great lead will make me that much better as a parent myself.
We took a little walk around Rocky Point in Port Moody for a nice relaxed session.
I just can’t believe this little face.
This kid knows my camera so well now, it’s been in his face since the day he was born.
This one’s going on my wall. Makes me smile every time I look at it.
Starting to get the hang of this whole “walking” thing.
I made some time a few weeks ago to get some more shots of my adorable nephew. I realized I hadn’t made a point of bringing my Canon 5d with me to their place since he was born. Even since this shoot it seems like he’s grown SO much in such a short time, but it’s nice to be able to document the little changes along the way.
The main plan for the day was to finally get a few shots of the new family together in their element.
I know I haven’t been around a lot of babies in my life, but I still just can’t get over those tiny little toes!
It’s impossible to resist kissing that little baby-smell forehead.
Time to plan a 3 month shoot in just a couple more weeks! They grow up so fast….sigh.
