Winter Family Photography In Vancouver
Dee contacted me about booking a family photo session while their adult kids were home in Vancouver for the holidays. She was hoping to finally get some nice photos as a family because she realized it had been 10 years(!) since their last professional photo together. I love it when I can help rectify a situation like this and get some recent images on peoples’ walls. Especially when the kids are no longer kids anymore!
Undaunted by late December weather, we headed out to Spanish Banks for a casual and easygoing session. A mix of posed shots & some casual candids of them hanging out as a family. They also brought their two dogs, who got their beach zoomies out, then stuck casually nearby for the rest of the session.
I love getting a chance to document families with grown kids because it’s not always something that’s top of mind for parents once the kids have grown up and started their own lives. This family is not formal, and I think their session reflects their enjoyment of each other and of our gorgeous city, rather than just stiff forced smiles. They were such a lovely family to spend the morning with, and I was pretty thrilled with the results.
